Miami - for IFocos WeMedia Conference and Gathering of Leaders

NewsCup is just beginning a fundraising effort this week. Until now, only 8 people have seen the latest incarnation of NewsCups' technologies and interfaces. Tomorrow some of the key technologies will be demonstrated, include "SOCS", or Self Organizing Categories.

Represented will be the AP, Google, Yahoo, AOL, Powerset and other industry leaders, including Slashdot, Craigslist and more. See also Jonathan Hendler's first impressions of the WeMedia conference.

Just last week, Jonathan met with the a professor of The Natural Language Research Group of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain.
Yesterday, Jonathan spoke to an audience at DERI in Galway, Ireland on his experiences developing for Web 3.0. DERI is one the the premier institutes developing applied Semantic Web applications. download the presentation.

Earlier this evening Jonathan was with Corrina Moebius of Imagine Miami, a Miami Civic Networking organization, where the Knight Foundation and New Profit, Inc were kicking off their annual Gathering of Leaders conference. The Knight Foundation is beginning to pay more attention to technology and its role in their groundbreaking work.
